The Gators are a recreational swim team that strives to make the swimming experience as enjoyable and fun as possible for its swimmers as well as parents. The club hosts a number of social events during the season, including:
- Pep Rallies. Every Friday afternoon the coaches sponsor a pep-rally to get swimmers ready and excited about the meet the next day. The coaches come up with a theme for every week. Be sure to watch for the Coach's Corner article each week for more information.
- Pancake Breakfasts. Several times a season, parents put on a pancake breakfast for the swimmers - giving them a little extra incentive to get up and make it to practice.
- Potluck Dinner. The annual potluck dinner is the traditional kickoff for the season. Everybody brings their favorite dish. Swimmers and parents renew old friendships - and start to build new ones.
- Awards Banquet. The annual awards banquet concludes the swim season. The club caters a complete meal and the coach's hand out individual awards to each swimmer. A video of the team is shown following the awards.
- Parent's Party. The club hosts a parents-only party early in the season providing an opportunity to get to know everyone a little better - which can be a little difficult during the chaos of a swim meet.
- Team Pictures. The club organizes a photographer to take team and individual photos of all swimmers. Watch for the date and time in the newsletter and on the website.
- Waterworld. The club also organizes a Waterworld day. Practice is suspended for the day and the coaches lead all willing Gators on a trip to Waterworld.
